Jodie is an experienced and talented insurance lawyer with over 10 years’ experience in insurance law, specialising in professional indemnity claims.

She has worked both as a lawyer and a claims manager. Her experience in having been a claims manager and a lawyer in private practice means that she provides advice with an understanding of what clients need.

Jodie acts in claims brought against a wide cross section of professionals, including real estate agents, accountants and auditors, mortgage brokers, health professionals, financial planners, insurance intermediaries, solicitors, barristers, engineers, architects, valuers and building professionals.

As a claims manager with a leading third party claims handler, managing professional indemnity claims, she is familiar with the practical exigencies affecting insurers’ claims handling activities.

Jodie also has experience in directors and officers liability claims. With partners, Richard Midgley and Anthony Scott, she co-authored the Australian chapter in an international text on ‘Directors and Officers Indemnification – A Global Guide’ (1st and 2nd editions).

Jodie regularly advises insurers on complicated indemnity issues. She has also assisted in drafting alternative clauses for policy wordings to address identified policy issues arising from claims.
