Fiona commenced her legal career with Moray & Agnew in 1999. Since that time, she has dealt with all facets of workers compensation and common law, recovery and contribution actions. She is a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury.

Fiona has extensive experience representing clients across a range of jurisdictions, including the New South Wales Supreme Court, District Court and the NSW Workers Compensation Commission. This includes handling many matters on behalf of various clients as their preferred workers compensation legal adviser.

Fiona has acted in a number of significant cases in the Workers Compensation Commission, including Kathryn Zalfelds v NSW Department of Education [2015] and Maria Brooks v Department Education & Training [2005].

Many of the claims Fiona handles involve psychological injury. She is accustomed to identifying potentially sensitive matters quickly and formulating a strategy to resolve those issues in dispute, having regard to minimising impact on a client’s public profile.

Fiona is also highly skilled in formal and informal alternative dispute resolution procedures, enabling her to facilitate early resolution of claims. She represents the interests of her clients at the conciliation and arbitration stages of proceedings brought before the Workers Compensation Commission.

Fiona regularly presents seminars on workers compensation matters to insurers and public and private sector employers.
