Philip has over 20 years’ experience as a recognised insurance law practitioner and has a history of establishing and maintaining longstanding client relationships.

Philip’s area of practice is in insurance law and general common law, incorporating litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He also provides general litigation-related advice to his insurer, corporate and government clients. This experience has spanned all of the court jurisdictions from the lower to the appellate Courts and the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption. Philip has also acted for major non-insured and self-insured corporations on liability claims.

The majority of the claims work Philip handles is in the areas of common law, public and product liability, construction risk, professional negligence and recovery actions, statutory interpretation, contractual indemnities, catastrophic injury and property losses, insurance policy interpretation and disputes.

Philip has considerable experience in managing and supervising lawyers, especially dedicated teams for major clients. He has mentored many junior lawyers and regularly presents seminars and contributes to newsletters.

Philip is Moray & Agnew’s lead partner involved in the firm’s significant probono involvement in the Lawyers Encouraging and Assisting Promising Students (LEAPS) program in which he and other partners regularly mentor school students who are in the course of completing High School.

He is a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury.
