Scott has specialised in motor vehicle law, in particular compulsory third party (CTP) insurance claims since 1995.
His initial grounding after joining Moray & Agnew in 1990 involved practising in the workers compensation and commercial and litigation practices of the firm. During this time, in addition to acting in third party insurance matters, he handled workers compensation, public liability, aviation, reinsurance and debt recovery matters.
This broad range of experience at all levels of both state and federal courts has given Scott a vast array of expertise to draw upon.
In addition to more traditional litigation, Scott has extensive experience in other areas of alternative dispute resolution including mediation and informal settlement conferencing.
He has appeared extensively as an advocate in the statutory claims assessment process under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act.
Scott has been involved in numerous matters involving indemnity issues, acting on behalf of CTP insurers where those issues have been used to secure heavily compromised settlements, or resulted in the CTP insurer not being required to indemnify the insured.
He has also acted on behalf of CTP insurers and successfully negotiated concessions of dual insurance from a workers compensation insurer.
Scott enjoys a high profile in his specialist area of practice and is a Law Society of NSW Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury.
