Vanessa has over 15 years’ experience in personal injury claims. She started her career working for a major insurer specialising in complex Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims. She was admitted to practice in 2009 and has focused on personal injury litigation since then, primarily in CTP claims across the NSW and ACT jurisdictions.
She presently advises all major CTP insurers with an emphasis on early resolution of matters. This includes regularly appearing in the ACT Magistrates Court, ACT Supreme Court and in NSW’s Claims Assessment and Resolution Service (CARS) and District Court.
Vanessa is well-known among her clients and colleagues for undertaking thorough assessments of damages and has a detailed understanding of complex economic loss issues involving residual earning capacity, self-employed persons and complex entities including trusts. She also has had significant experience in running and resolving costs matters in the ACT.

- Contributory negligence and a reduction in the assessment of general damages under the Civil Law (Wrongs) Act 2002 and Road Transport (Third Party Insurance) Act 2008 – Smith v Pangallo  ACTCA 61
- An appeal in relation to residual earning capacity (Howard v Aikman  ACTCA 64).
